Street Fighter Collection (Sega Saturn)
People within the world of game collecting know how much Sega Saturn game prices have exploded over the last several years. The grail for Sega Saturn is unquestionably Panzer Dragoon Saga, a game that is not only rare but also considered one of the best games ever made.
Presently, there are four eBay listings for CIB copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga. Two of them are sealed, graded copies for a whopping $1,299 and $1,499. There are also two other copies being sold within lots. One of the two CIB copies can be had for $729 and the other has a starting bid at $570.
Meanwhile, Street Fighter Collection for Saturn currently has only three listings on eBay. Yes that is right - three.
Now keep in mind that I am not saying thegame is cheap...it isn't. The listings start at $150 and go up from there.
But considering that the game by all accounts should be collectible (it is Capcom, Street Fighter, and Saturn combined), it seems like the price of the game still has room to move.
In my unofficial estimation, it might be the rarest and most collectible of the many Street Fighter home console releases. The cover art is amazing...and did I mention that it is rare? I've had a saved search on this game for close to a year and I can tell you that there have been stretches where there were ZERO CIB copies of this game on eBay.
There are certainly some cons with the game. Unlike Panzeer Dragoon Saga, Street Fighter Collection is not particularly playable. The older Street Fighter II games have seen upgrades, which make Super Street Fighter II and Super Street Fighter II Turbo largely obsolete. Same with the third game - Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold. There is also the issue of the more plentiful PS1 version being pretty readily available as an alternative. When it comes down to it, the game is basically shelf candy.
Nevertheless, I think it deserves a look. If you can get the game at the right price, it feels like it has the potential for more gains.
